MINEYE - Earth observation techniques for mine life cycle monitoring

The MINEYE project aims to optimize European mining operations by addressing the entire mining value chain, from explorations to mine closure. The project will develop tools for visualization and decision-making, supported by dynamic updates of Earth Observation data and knowledge using machine learning and digital twin technologies.

Seagreen - foundation installation for the world's deepest offshore wind farm

Huge buckets, silently sucked into the seabed with the opening down, keep the wind turbines on the Seagreen field off the east coast of Scotland in place on the seabed. Together with FRAMO, NGI had the task of installing the bucket foundations on the 114 jacket substructures for the wind turbines.

Snow avalanche expert concerned about possible record year of fatalities due to avalanche accidents: “Do not move in avalanche-prone terrain when there is a high risk of avalanches”

So far this winter, four people have lost their lives in snow avalanche accidents. "If you ski in steep terrain, you have a significant responsibility to avoid getting caught in an avalanche," says NGI's snow avalanche expert, Christian Jaedicke.
